My husband and I are not only newly married, but are new PARENTS as well. Naturally our priorities have changed and planning for our child's future is at the forefront. We have a savings plan in place and will meet with a financial advisor about setting up a 529 plan for our son. For those of you who are not familiar (as we were not until our child was born): A 529 Plan is an education savings plan operated by a state or educational institution designed to help to save funds for college costs. We have also signed up as Upromise members. But even with these plans in place, by the time our child reaches college age, it still may not be enough. Costs are constantly rising. We find it wise to save in every way that we can. For the sake of our son's future.

It may be tough to get the most votes by the deadline for the grand prize as the most popular post is (at the time of this writing) already at over 6,000 likes! But a chance at the $1,000 weekly drawing is a great reason to try.
